I was recently talking to someone about the wearing of a headscarf as a woman. I am a firm believer of free will and free mind, so as I experienced I feel that women should actually be able to explain thoroughly why they want to wear a headscarf in the first place, and if there are no other alternatives that are less provoking and even disrespectful to women that don't wear it.
Actually I'm thinking maybe people should do an exam to wear a headscarf in the first place, and only women that are in that line of thought, as a "nun" or "old lady nun", they should or could wear a headscarf, NOT the younger generation that is a "wannabe" or another type of "Muslim" that needs to still prove that they are really what they mean to be when they wear the symbolic headscarf.
I feel nowadays the headscarf is worn as a way of provocation, pride and show off or just "belonging" and "cultural" without real thought behind it, instead of modesty, safety and high need for it because of the environments safety issues. The cultural reasoning of guys being harassing a woman without a headscarf is actually part of the guy that should learn how to act and behave respectful towards a and any woman, with or without headscarf. It has nothing to do with wearing the headscarf by itself.
I feel a religious woman can also wear other things and also wear a nice hear or ponytail or braids that function in the same line as a headscarf, namely neat and well taken care of. It doesn't have to be a headscarf, UNLESS it is a NUN symbolism or OLD LADY NUN symbolism. This is my huge question mark nowadays with the headscarf and women that claim to choose a headscarf.
Also, the NEED for NUN, why? And how come? Is it suppression or free will still? Or just the easiest route, since Islamic religion is forbidding the NUN-principle in the first place, because women are supposed to get married when they are young, the younger the better even. So HOW is this logic working in a modern western society?
