I feel that Drugs is a way under discovered field so far. It is vastly criminalized and it is mostly in the hands of people that experiment by themselves, even through their teenager years. I noticed every country has their own policy on Drugs, and the Drugs is placed in a different category than Alcohol and Smoking, even though all of them can lead to heavy addictions.
Why is Drugs such a big issue nowadays?
Because people loose the connection with reality, are unsatisfied in life and feel alone and lonely in general, besides that some people want to experiment and just try things for fun (the younger generation).
According to different studies it seems that there is ground to speak about the use of Medicinal Drugs (Mushrooms and Psychedelics) in Micro dosing, which is a lower amount than a normal user would use, but still effective to give a positive result even for treatments and disorders like depression.
There is something to say about the use of Medicinal Drugs, because in some cultures certain plants and mushrooms have been used since old ages in a way of using for spiritual and religious rituals, enlightenment ventures and spiritual healing. These aims would suggest that there is a positive note towards using drugs.
The only real problem with drugs is the high addictiveness, and the fact that once you experiences some kind of epiphanies and feelings that are out of the ordinary positive, as I heard "orgasmic multiplied", I can imagine it can be a struggling path to stay clean once you got your hands on it.
Even if you want to experiment with drugs, it should become regulated and legalized or decriminalized in such a way that actually a studied psychologist or psychiatrist can guide you through your tripping and understand why you want to use it in the first place, besides just for fun.
A problem I feel in the common psychiatry is that there is lack on skills and motivation from the psychologists/psychiatrists to actually understand and help someone with their life questioning and pondering, that comes with the use of drugs. They easily think something is wrong with a drugs (ab)user, even though there are real core issues and these people can be also smart and intelligent in their own way. It is just a problem that they cannot find the proper guidance to their life quests and their hunger and dissatisfied feelings and even traumatic childhood drama. It is not always just clear cut that someone using drugs is just easily astray and wrong and needs to be punished at all, even if the drugs are illegal to begin with. The main question is why someone wants to use drugs, the core cause and the real reasoning behind it. Not to forget that in some cultures drug use is a common and actually highly evolved thing, and not even for everyone. Also, not all drugs are equally the same with the same effects and the same needs and the same qualities. So there is a difference in use.
